Rapid Asia in Timor-Leste for a Major Campaign on Human Trafficking

Rapid Asia in East-Timor

After independence in 1999, the wall was painted with various motives to promote peace. Rapid Asia ventured into Timor-Leste (East Timor) to carry out an evaluation for a major campaign on human trafficking. The campaign was part of a regional initiative to raise awareness about human trafficking and how victims are tricked through fake work opportunities, resulting in several forms of exploitation including forced labor, forced domestic servitude and forced sex work.

Rapid Asia sent a team to Timor-Lest to train enumerators from a local training provider, East Timor Development Agency (ETDA).
