Rapid Asia recently conducted a national youth study in Cambodia, focusing on youth engagement in politics. This is the first time such as this has been done in Cambodia. Youth’s direct engagement in politics is still limited as reflected by a low number of youth candidates and youth elected at national and commune levels. The study presented at the Chenla Theatre in Phnom Penh on Saturday 23 April by Mr. Daniel Lindgren.
The goal of this study is to find out youth perspectives on youth candidates for national and sub-national elected bodies. It is the first study and findings are useful for all relevant stakeholders especially political parties to use these finding to develop their internal policies to promote youth candidates.
